i love a beautifully crafted cocktail or pale glass of rosé particularly during the summer, but tropical drinks are really something i drink year-round (drink for the job you want #poolside). below are my top spots for a tiki-esque concoction to shake things up in new york.
1. mother of pearl and order the sugar cane magik (coconut cream, pineapple, lime, almond, rum) or the shark eye (passion fruit, lemon, maraschino, curaçao, tiki bitters, bourbon).
3. jeffrey's gorcery and order the island moon DJ, a non-alcoholic mix of pineapple, honey, lime, and coconut. ask for rum to be added, if desired.
4. the happiest hour and order the special rum slushie....it's not on the menu, again, but it's a must.
5. cafe colette and order the johnny colada...coconut, rum, lime, and fernet branca whilst in williamsburg.
