one last summer trip over labor day weekend.

as a true lover of summer, i'm thrilled that the weather is still allowing for cut-offs. come proper fall, i plan to replace them for longer versions of this levi's classic. in the interim, updated accessories are all that's needed.

i've said it many times, but summer is my absolute preferred season to dress for. the majority of my wardrobe is best suited for warm weather despite the fact that i experience fall, winter, and spring for the greater part of the year living in new york.
this season, i've been wearing my light wash levi's 501 cut off shorts on repeat. i love how they give a laid-back, casual feel to my more tailored and preppy items. many people have asked where i got them: at first, i scoured vintage shops in my neighborhood but just couldn't find a pair that suited me. etsy has a few great options, but sizing and color is hard to gauge since they're vintage. i bought mine here and can't take them off!
lastly, i've finally found the perfect red polish. it's been on my nails all summer.

for memorial day weekend (which is the official kick off for summer weekends and local trips, in my book!), i am heading out east to long island. i'll be visiting friends in one of the most idyllic towns but also heading to another destination i've never been before (on the north fork). i can't wait for endless lush greens, white picket fences, and the start of my favorite season.
